1. Introduction
Jericho Road Community Health Center (JRCHC) invites proposals from local artists to conceptualize and create an original art installation for our 2026 annual fundraiser. The installation will serve as an impactful visual and thematic centerpiece, inspiring reflection on justice, compassion, and community health. The selected artwork will become a permanent part of JRCHC’s collection and used for future advocacy efforts.

2. Themes and Goals
The installation should make a meaningful statement or invite viewers to ask deep questions about issues central to JRCHC’s mission and vision.

Mission: We care for our communities and advocate for systemic health equity in order to demonstrate the unconditional love of Jesus.
Vision: Our vision is for individuals, families, and communities to become healthy and whole.
Put in a different way: our goal is to love our neighbor, no matter who they are.

What does it look like to love our neighbor in one or more of the following contexts?

-Health equity
-Universal healthcare
-Black maternal health
-Access to healthcare (in Buffalo or in Sierra Leone, the DRC, or Nepal where we also have clinics)
-Immigration justice
-Loving your neighbor
-The Good Samaritan
-Dignity, belonging, and community care

3. Collaborative Creative Process
JRCHC values co-creation.

The selected artist must:

-Participate in at least two collaborative design meetings with the JRCHC team
-Share interim sketches, renderings, or models for feedback
-Integrate JRCHC’s brand values and narratives into the final work
-Be open to discussion and small iterative revisions prior to fabrication
Additionally, we would love to spend some time with the artist, give a tour of our local Buffalo sites, discuss our work across the globe, and help the artist to fully understand our mission.

4. Installation Requirements
The final artwork would ideally:

-Be at least 5 feet wide and 5 feet tall
-Be transportable or designed for assembly inside the venue
-If delivered as a whole piece, fit through a standard double-door entrance
-Be structurally sound, safe, and durable for long-term display

5. Budget

The total available budget is between $1,000-4,000, depending on the artist’s proposal, and inclusive of artist fees, materials, fabrication, transportation, installation, de-installation, subcontractors, and design meetings.
